Where They Work Best

  • Conference and meeting rooms
  • Restaurants and cafeterias
  • Classrooms and training rooms
  • Media rooms and home theaters
  • Worship spaces and event rooms

Panel Options

  • Fiberglass and mineral fiber panels with high sound absorption
  • Fabric-faced panels in custom colors
  • Direct-mount panels where there is no room for a grid
  • Custom sizes and shapes for feature ceilings

Sound Performance

Acoustic panels are chosen by their NRC. Standard ceiling tiles often fall between 0.50 and 0.70, while high-performance fiberglass and fabric-faced panels can reach 0.85 or more. Thicker panels, and panels with an air space behind them, absorb more low-frequency sound. We size and place the panels so they treat the part of the room where people actually talk and listen.

FAQ

Acoustic Panel Ceilings FAQs

Can acoustic panels go on an existing ceiling?

Yes. Many acoustic panels can be mounted directly to an existing drywall or hard ceiling, or hung as clouds below it, which adds sound absorption without replacing the whole ceiling.

What do NRC and CAC mean on ceiling tiles?

NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) is how much sound a tile absorbs, on a scale from 0 to 1. A tile with an NRC of 0.70 absorbs about 70% of the sound that hits it. CAC (Ceiling Attenuation Class) is how well the ceiling blocks sound traveling between rooms through the space above. Open offices and classrooms usually need a high NRC, around 0.70 or more, while private offices and exam rooms also need a good CAC, often 35 or more. More on suspended acoustic ceilings.
